About Me: My Fiancé and I took a trip to Cancun, Mexico in September of 2008. We had been a couple for six years up to that point. At that point I was alittle tired of waiting for a engagedment ring. Ironically when we arrived in Cancun everyone we met asked us if we were married, engaged, or celebrating an anniversary. It wasn't just one or two people that asked us, it was the cab driver, the couple sharing the cab with us, the waiters, the front desk at the hotel, and guests in the hotel! I being the bitter girlfriend would quickly reply in the most abrupt and upset voice, "NO" and quickly change the subject. At the time I didn't realize how I sounded until later. I endured the questions for about two days and then we went to our tour of the Mayan Pyramids at Chichen-Itza Mexico. We had a group tour and then we had free time to walk around. It was a very muggy hot day and we had taken a lot of photos already. My Tony then asked if we could take some more photos, I hesitated but he insisted. The side we were closest to wasn't good enough for him; we had to go the most "preserved" side of the pyramid. So we walked on. I was dragging my feet and carrying a ton of souvenirs. He started snapping pictures of me and then started digging in his backpack on one knee. I was gazing up at the amazing sight of the pyramids, and he then asked me, "How long have we been together?" I was so not keeping track anymore, and replied with an annoyed voice, “I don't know." I then asked him to get up, and asked him what he was doing down there still? He then said, "Well we have been together for 6 years and I want you to know that I love you so much. You are beautiful and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to be with you as long as these pyramids stand, which means forever." (I know right, how perfect!) He then pulled out the ring box and asked me to marry him. My eyes started to tear up and I of course said, "YES!" This was the most beautiful and special day of my life up to now. I never could have imagined that my proposal could be so beautiful and perfect; he is my dream come true. Thank you my love!
